Some people are lucky when it comes to choosing an office for their homes. These people have entire rooms to devote to a home office. They can set up desks, chairs, filing cabinets, printers, and anything else they need. They can also put up paintings, prints or posters on the walls and decorate it so that they love being in this room while working. Some of these home offices can be absolutely delightful.
On the other hand, many people are forced to create a space for an office out of nothing. This means that a lot of you are probably trying to work from a corner of the living room or your bedroom. You may be stuck working from some place with absolutely no window or anything else pleasant to look at. This can be rather depressing when you’re trying to work and stay motivated.
There are ways to brighten up even the tiniest corner of a room when you need to use it as your home office. If it’s impossible to set up a desk in front of or within sight of a window, create your own unique and pleasant view. This can be done by hanging a favorite painting, print or poster on the wall directly in front of your desk. You’ll be facing it all day so be sure it’s something you truly love. It’s also possible to create a grouping of wall hangings so that each one is different and offers you variety.
It’s also possible to create your very own window. This doesn’t mean that you have to actually install a window in the wall over your desk. What you do is build one artistically. You can use such things as small pieces of wood to make the window frame. Then add a painting or picture of a lovely outdoors scene that’s something you would love to see when you look out your window every day. Attach the picture to the wood frame using glue or a staple gun. Add fabric in the form of curtains to the frame and there you have your very own home made window!
You can always find room to add small things to even the tiniest office space. A standing plant can be added by your desk. You can also even add a small goldfish bowl with the goldfish swimming around in it. There are also very small aquariums that will fit in a corner of your desk. Whatever you like and makes you more motivated to stay working is what you should add to your office space.
If you’re still having problems deciding just where that office space should be, consult with another friend that’s working from home and may be in the same situation. All it takes is a bit of creativity and you can turn the most unlikely space choice into an office that you’ll love working in as well as showing off to people that visit. Don’t be afraid to take a chance. There’s no right or wrong way to set up your office as long as it works for you.
